too many germans in this building, that's for sure. thank god, that human nature gets used to everything... anyway. in the last months i have absorbed a lot of german german language, which brutally differs from my own one, the highly-educated austrian german... but today, companero björn from bremen marked a new highpoint concerning odd expressions. "i'm getting undressed" in german german: "ich ziehe blank." holy shit, better stay in your own country ;)

dry your eyes. not your clothes. the typical wool pullover fate in a common laundry: being taken out of the washing machine by somebody, thoughtlessly smashed into the dryer. the high-grade aggressive dryer by the way... however, whoever. the result is a bad one. shrinked to xxxs-size, the pullover will at most have a right to exist at the next navigaytion festival...

what a wonderful (to)day in van houtenlaan. the sun is shining, refusing winter to exist. the first days back have been great, including kind of a special vhl atmosphere, shared by everyone. at least it seems so. friday and saturday evening, a big bunch of people has been sitting together in the common room, talking about home countries, archaeology and female football. 2nd floor bad boys included...

never forget your childhood and never be too old to re-live it. today evening dirk, chris and me spontaneously took our bathing shorts and went to kardingen, the huge sports centre in the eastern part of the city. three hours of massive fun: riding artificial waves, extreme watersliding and sardine box styled jacuzzi chillout. great great great. definite acme: chris, sprinkling from anticipation, diving into the closed door to the outside swimming area...

celebrating birthdays, normally not my kind of thing. too much noise about numbers. but what to do, when the number is 25... strange feeling, looking back on a quarter century. and realizing in the same moment that there is nothing more important now than looking forward. surrounded by a wonderful VHL family that is always there. a day to remember gallery , part one. bitteschön.

sinterklaas. in this way unknown for an austrian as well as for most of the other nationalities. sinterklaas is the celebration day in holland. eating millions of sweeties, singing traditional songs and being with your family. in my case with the big vhl family. in the heat of the battle i bought too much candies, i guess. anyway, christmas is certain to come...

groningen. almelo. groningen. linz. salzburg. linz. groningen. münster. groningen. a weekly driving amount for truckers... anyway. every person i ever asked about münster was doting. reason enough to go there, together with emese and "native" petra. short conclusion after christmas fairs and churches: nice and worth visiting.
